The above Home Depot sign surfaced yesterday on Reddit without any context or provenance, but one commenter weighs in: "I've always wondered why EVERY home depot in the USA has the exact same hand written signs... do they train their how to write in the 'home depot' script?"

Anyway, the photo's downright vintage: in 2009 the home-improvement chain replaced its "You can do it. We can help" slogan seen here with "More Saving. More Doing."

Ikea, the Swedish furnishings chain that's been opening apartments in Paris Metro stations and quarantining off male shoppers, the company that's so revolutionary that it's actually been copied, has cut the bull and gone back to its bread and butter: flat-pack furniture. Its newest ad campaign, promoting its 40 percent off sale, literally reveals just that: furniture created from cardboard flat-pack furniture boxes. The campaign was devised by Italian firm Auge and is a real mind-bender, obviously.

Adventures in Marketing: Meet the House With its Own Twitter Handle: @IAMAHouse1

This is borderline brilliant: a Tucson, Ariz., house newly listed for $1.025M is marketing itself through @IAMAHouse1, its very own Twitter handle. Created by the homeowners' son (and not to be confused by the English dormitory personified by the Twitter handle @iamahouse), @IAMAHouse1 has been live since Saturday and includes a mix of clever selling tactics ("Yep, it's November and I'm going for a dip in the pool. You hear that Wisconsin? #gottalovearizona") and philosophical quotes about homeownership ("Home is where one starts from. - T. S. Eliot #quote.")

As for the property itself, here are the vitals, stripped of brokerbabble terms such as "charm and "grace": built in 1980, it offers 4,000 square feet, three bedrooms, four bathrooms, fireplaces, French doors, a pool, and a "spa patio." Photos right here:

Adventures With Weather: Massive Ice Sculpture is Just About as Big as One Man's House

We've got to hand it to proud Minnesota resident Roger Hanson. Instead of complaining about the weather in his fair state, he's turned lemons into lemonade a 65-foot-tall ice sculpture with the help of a snazzy at-home geothermal heating system. In November, Hanson erects structural poles; later, a computer system determines when the weather is so cold that any water sprayed onto the poles will freeze, thus "growing" the castle. It looks like his creation is about the width of his house, but luckily for Hanson there seems to be nary a NIMBY in sight. Comments on Hanson's official Winter Water Wonder page range from "Thank you for sharing your talent and your artistry with everyone" to "That is such a GREAT THING YOU ARE DOING!...When will you hit the 100 ft. mark and turn it into an amusement park?" Looks like that former Blue's Clues star who built a sorry little igloo in his Brooklyn backyard should get to work.
