Renovations Wire: With Found Stuff, This Army Garage Becomes Weirdly Cozy

In terms of dream vacation potential, the prospect of bunking up in an old army garage sounds about as appealing as, say, roughing it with a bunch of family members in a "nature hut" or staying in one of the nation's most startlingly ugly hotel rooms. Against all odds, though, this abandoned military building is nothing short of adorable, in a very Free People-catalogue kind of way. Located on the small island called Furillen, off the east coast of Gotland, Sweden, much of the extensive renovations used raw materials and abandoned furniture found right in the garage. The end result? Think lots of exposed, untreated wood, bare cement floors, and simple, Brooklyn-hip furniture that somehow comes together to look, well, very cozy indeed. More photos after the jump.
