Oh, Lego: wherever will you go from here? You've conquered classic American architecture and climbed the world's tallest building and now you're playing a part in global agriculture. The world's first-ever greenhouse made entirely of Legos has debuted at the London Design Festival, where industrial designer Sebastian Bergne has used 100,000 pieces—50,000 clear ones for the roof and walls and 50,000 brown ones for the "soil"—to form the translucent structure. Impressive, right? It gets even better: Bergne told Co.Design, which first covered the story, that he threw the project together "in just one night, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m." Jeez, now you're just making us feel bad. $13.25M, folks! $13.25M is all it takes to bathe among the fish in this new-to-market Dallas monster, sharply spotted by our friends over at Homes of the Rich. Kudos to whomever built this house in 2000 (or, say, the people who've since renovated it), for so aptly predicting that at-home aquariums would become a fast-moving design trend toward the end of the first decade of the millennium. As for the rest of the house, it's—oh, wait, never mind. So not as interesting as that bathroom above.

Toys 'n' Games: Mies van der Rohe's Famed Farnsworth House Now in Lego Version

It must be Lego day here—first there was the world's tallest Lego building and now Ludwig Mies van der Rohe's renowned Farnsworth House (a National Trust Historic Site in Plano, Ill.) is the newest addition to Lego's Architecture series. Chicago architect Adam Reed Tucker is the man behind the miniature; he used simple 1x1-inch blocks to recreate the minimalist 1950s structure head to toe, including the built-ins inside, the roof deck, and the furnishings. The kit joins FLW's Fallingwater and the Guggenheim in the series, among others, includes 546 pieces, and retails for $59.99. small price to pay for a DIY slice of midcentury architecture!
