Ah the bygone days: a time when Manhattan's illustrious skyline was the be-all-end-all in sky-high architecture, and buildings like the Burj Khalifa and its pre-fab competitors seemed the stuff of science fiction. Like other cities toured via nostalgia-tinged postcards, NYC discovered through retro peeks at its architectural feats is a romp through history.
