When I stumbled upon the Jeff Jones Tobacco Stick Chandelier made of reclaimed barn wood, cotton, plastic, and steel, the hanging fixture caught my eye.
Mixing rustic elements with bright colors to create contrast may be not be a new concept, but I can appreciate the reclaimed materials and the creative way that the piece is assembled. I was, however, a bit surprised when I saw the price.
When I saw that it was going for nearly $1300.00 at Anthropologie, it made me wonder: would you pay designer prices for something you could DIY? Does knowing it was designed by an artist / architect / designer justify the price?
