Reminiscent of our favorite Kevin Bacon movie, Nob Hill neighbors apparently hate music and dancing. The NIMBYs of Nob Hill failed, previously, to convince the Board of Supervisors to prevent more use at the Masonic Center, which they fear will turn their well-heeled nabe into something resembling an actual city. A judge recently pushed the changes at the center into full environmental review, delaying indefinitely Live Nation's plans. Score one for the NIMBYs. This puts us in the strange position of rooting for Live Nation, adder of concert fees, who merely wants to remodel the Center to allow for more standing (dancing) space, get a full-time liquor license, and run the venue many more times per year.
