I have always loved the distinguished look of a Chesterfield sofa. It demands and grabs the attention of anyone who walks into a room lucky enough to house this style of sofa. The shape is known all over the world with good reason - it's both comfortable and chic.
I've always told my fiance that I want us to one day own a Chesterfield sofa. Initially (like most people barely interested in home interiors) he wasn't a fan but after sharing loads of inspiration and different styling ideas he's finally seen the light. For me, these sofas can look great in so many different ways. If you're lucky enough to score a vintage leather Chesterfield that is so perfectly distressed it looks like a million bucks — consider yourself extremely lucky.
However, it's certainly not the end of the world if you find one in less than perfect condition because the options are endless. The next best thing to a perfectly distressed Chesterfield is an expertly reupholstered one. I'm a big advocate of using a lush velvet to encase a Chesterfield because velvet really adds onto the luxuriousness and over all vibe of the sofa.
Chesterfields can be incorporated into traditional, modern or contemporary homes, no matter the fabric!
