Name: Robert Perry + 2 cats: Gomez & Little Girl Linda
Location: South Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Size: 1,900 square feet — 3 bedrooms
Years lived in: 5 — own
I met Robert a few years ago in a pretty unlikely way. We met in a bar, the bar he co-owns in South Philadelphia called Tattooed Moms. It's a place that has a hip vintage ambiance and it came as no surprise to me that his house had much of that same feeling — only much more masculine and a lot less electric.
While standing in his sun filled living room, Robert explained that due to his work environment he wanted (and needed) to decorate his home in a calm and tranquil way. The colors he chose for the walls are not only soothing but also pay respect to the era of the home and smooth lines seen throughout. He's very serious about honoring the original details of the house — the floors, banisters and ceiling medallions, etc.Robert is an extremely laid back, cool guy and that is directly reflected in his home. The living room is cool and comfortable, the dining area turned office is masculine; featuring large pieces of wood furniture while his bedroom is scarcely decorated with bare essentials — including a dark green arm chair tucked right by the window. Visiting the top floor is as if you've been transported back forty years ago to Hawaii and that's exactly what he's going for. Robert's home makes you feel at home and it's just a place you want to be.
