Been so busy paying attention to our local world champions that you forgot SF has another pro team? Turns out the 49ers and this "football league" they play for is having a rough time of it right now and causing a problem at, of all places, city hall. A looming lockout would mean that no football would get played next year, which would mean the Niners wouldn't have to pay rent on Candlestick. Now, we've tried this with our landlord, but it turns out even if we quit our jobs like a bunch of babies, he's still expecting a check on the first of the month. The city Recreation and Parks Department could be out up to $3,500,000 if no football is played. [SF Appeal]
