Excuse us while we gag at our own use of the word "princess" in the headline above, but, well, it was either that or "royal." How else to describe the decor overhaul that Walt Disney World is planning for its Port Orleans Resort in Florida? The new block of 512 Royal Guest Rooms, inspired by Disney heroines such as Princess Tiana (The Princess and the Frog) and Jasmine (Aladdin), will open in March with "ornate beds that feature headboards with fiber-optic special effects, and gold and crystal accents." Headboards with special effects, crystals, gold—are we at a family resort or in Vegas?! And at the nearby Contemporary Resort, new wellness suites expected to open in fall have bamboo flooring, tea tree oils, access to yoga classes, and rainwater showers. We'd say it all sounds like the way Disney would spin "healthy living," but—oh wait.
