Ray of Sunshine: Bold & Uplifting Yellow Lighting

Guess how much rain we got in Seattle last week? More than 3 inches. It was a wet Thanksgiving, and it made me want to light candles, put on my slippers, and bake cookies. During one of the downpours, I unearthed a very mod, very bright yellow lamp stashed in our basement that I scored for $12 a year ago. This pendant light may have to make an appearance in our house this winter -- it's like a ray of sunshine, and it'll brighten up any gloomy day.

2164 Pacific is a 2-bed, 2-bath, ground floor unit in Pacific Heights that plopped on the market in late January of this year. The building's Victorian exterior is absolutely charming, but the unit itself was "modernized," meaning no decorative mouldings, parlor doors or stained glass. Just smooth walls and granite countertops. Oh, and not much natural light. The unit also doesn't come with a parking spot. The original asking price was $675,000, and it just sold for $630,000. Which is unfortunate for the past owner, because they bought the abode in 2005 for $712,000. Congrats to the lucky buyer.
