With a boost from our current tech industry energy, Pier 70's future is being re-considered. The Potrero View writes that "Under the most recent development proposal for Pier 70, space would be set aside for start-up companies that incorporate small-scale manufacturing, crafts, and the arts, with an emphasis on maintaining the site's historic character." The development of this "Waterfront Site" includes 270,000 square feet of "creative core" within 25 acres of land between Illinois Street and the water, and 20th and 22nd streets. [Potrero View]
