Grab your banjo and auto-tune machine and run, don't walk to your nearest cafe. Yesterday, the Board of Supervisors approved legislation to create "limited live performance" permits for cafes and restaurants to have live music. Currently, entertainment permits cost $2,000 a year, which is a hefty fee for a business that isn't an entertaining venue. The new permit will cost $385 per year and performance areas can't exceed 200 square feet and performances must end by 10PM. [SF Examiner]
