Yesterday, the Board of Supervisors approved legislation to create "limited live performance" permits for cafes and restaurants to have live music. Currently, entertainment permits cost $2,000 a year, which is a hefty fee for a business that isn't an entertaining venue. The new permit will cost $385 per year and performance areas can't exceed 200 square feet and performances must end by 10PM. [SF Examiner]
